CavClear Masonry Mat is installed full-height behind brick to provide a continuous drainage area for moisture management. A properly functioning drainage system is the prerequisite for a masonry design to achieve maximum thermal efficiencies and reduced maintenance and repair costs.

Not only does CavClear Masonry Mat protect the weeps in a masonry design, it also addresses mortar obstructions throughout the height of the air space. We know mortar bridges are problematic anywhere in the wall, not just at the flashing levels.

Application and Installation

Specify, detail and install full-height behind brick in masonry veneer and cavity walls systems (insulated or non-insulated).

Fit horizontally between ties. Secure loosely using pintels at top edge or use spot adhesive that is compatible with the substrate. Stagger end joints in adjacent rows. Do not use staples or nails.

Composition

CavClear Masonry Mat is a fluid-conducting, non-absorbent polymer mesh manufactured from recycled plastic. It offers LEED points toward the prerequisite for minimum energy performance and the optimize energy efficiency and recycled content credits.

Allow 1/4″ to 3/8″ tolerance between CavClear Masonry Mat and brick.
